Makemkv valerian 4k11/22/2023 Single m2ts with a playlist that uses it, and the rest of the playlists ruled out by MakeMKV as duplicates.Īudio: TrueHD Surround 7.1 English, DTS-HD MA Surround 5. Thankfully looks like no playlist hassles on the UK release. If you only want the 7.1, you don't need to select the nested 5.1 as well. If you rip both the 7.1 and the nested 5.1, in the resulting MKV file you are going to wind up with two separate audio tracks, both tracks taking up the full amount of space. Some discs also add a dedicated 5.1 track. My understanding is that TrueHD 7.1 has a 5.1 core, and if your Blu-ray player/receiver setup is non-Atmos, it will use the 5.1 core as a fallback if there are no other audio tracks. So it could be your Mac's processing ability, but it could also be the processing ability of the software you use. But if I use mpv.io, there's no playback issues. On my laptop, if I play with VLC, TrueHD tracks will cut in and out as you say. Also, I seem to recall that with DD TrueHD you have to save both HD and regular DD soundtracks for the HD soundtrack to work. I am just trying to figure out if there is a reason for this such that I should re-rip all my UHDs with v1.15.1.JohnYaya wrote:My Mac won't play DD TrueHD soundtracks. Is there some difference in HDR data ripping?Īre there any shortcuts to figuring out which UHDs would be different and which ones not? But with Aquaman, the difference is a bit over 2 GB. But it buffers with movies like Gemini Man since its a 60FPS Native 4K movie. With most UHDs that I checked so far, there is pretty much no difference (less than 100 meg). Ive taken a full disk rip (of my legally purchased Valerian UHD), and used MKVtoolnix to mux the HDR and DV tracks from the main. One particular scene with oblivious difference Ive found is Valerian. And I checked that I was using the same angles etc. When makemkv reads disc I start to select options and all of a sudden I receive No Disc and that is where I have to close makemkv. Asus Drive on firmware 3.01 using makemkv 12.2. I got the same result ripping with v1.14.7 gives me a smaller file. Had no issues until today when I tried to make a movie (mkv) file from Valerian 4k disc. I loaded v1.14.7 on my PC again and re-ripped the movie. Checking the files with MediaInfo, the only differences are in the video itself. I have the same audio (ATMOS) and subtitle etc tracks included. When I rip my Valerian UHD disc with MakeMKV v1.15.1, the file is 8GB larger than if I rip with v1.14.7.
